Crochet Elegant Rose Brooch with Leaves Free Pattern

Materials:

  • Yarn: Red and green cotton DK yarn
  • Crochet hook: Size 3.5 mm
  • Tapestry needle
  • Brooch pin

Abbreviations:

  • ch - chain
  • sc - single crochet
  • dc - double crochet
  • tr - treble crochet
  • sl st - slip stitch

Instructions:

Rose Petals:

  1. With red yarn, ch 41.
  2. Row 1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc across (40 sc).
  3. Row 2: Turn, ch 1, (1 sc, skip 1 sc, 5 dc in next sc, skip 1 sc, 1 sc) repeat across.
  4. Row 3: Turn, ch 1, (1 sc, skip 2 dc, 7 tr in next dc, skip 2 dc, 1 sc) repeat across. Finish off.
  5. Coil the strip to form a flower and sew the base to secure.

Small Bud:

  1. With red yarn, make a magic ring.
  2. Round 1: Ch 1, 6 sc in ring. Pull ring tight.
  3. Round 2: [2 sc in each sc] around (12 sc). Finish off.

Leaves (make 2):

  1. With green yarn, ch 10.
  2. Row 1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc, hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc, sc, sl st in last ch.
  3. Row 2: Work on the other side of the ch, sl st, sc, hdc, dc, tr, dc, hdc, sc.
  4. Finish off and weave in ends.

Stem:

  1. With green yarn, ch 20, finish off.
  2. Attach to the back of the rose and bud.

Assembly:

  1. Sew leaves onto the back of the rose.
  2. Attach stem and small bud.
  3. Sew or glue brooch pin onto the back.
