Crochet Textured Twisted Cables Winter Scarf Free Pattern
Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn (approximately 300-400 yards)
- 5.5 mm (I) crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge:
12 stitches and 16 rows in cable pattern = 4" square. Gauge is not crucial for this project.
Finished Size:
Approximately 6" wide and 60" long, adjustable to preference.
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- fpdc = front post double crochet
- bpdc = back post double crochet
- st(s) = stitch(es)
Instructions:
Foundation Row:
- Ch 30 (or any multiple of 6 plus 2 for a nice width).
Row 1: In the 4th ch from the hook, dc, dc in each ch across. (28 dc)
Row 2: Ch 2, turn. *Bpdc around next st, fpdc around next st; repeat from * across, ending with a bpdc. (28 sts)
Row 3: Ch 2, turn. *Fpdc around next st, bpdc around next st; repeat from * across, ending with a fpdc. (28 sts)
Row 4: Ch 2, turn. Repeat Row 2.
Row 5: Ch 2, turn. Repeat Row 3.
Repeat Rows 2-5 until the scarf reaches the desired length, approximately 60 inches or more.
Finishing:
- Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for weaving.
- Weave in all loose ends with a tapestry needle.
