Crochet Whimsical Colorful Creature Cozy Free Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Medium-weight yarn in various colors (e.g., teal, cream, orange, green)
- Size G (4.0 mm) crochet hook
- Polyester fiberfill (for stuffing)
- Yarn needle
- Safety eyes (optional)
- Scissors
Gauge: 4” x 4” = 12 SC x 12 R

Size:
This cozy fits most standard water bottle sizes (approximately 16 oz).
Pattern Instructions:
Base
- With teal yarn, make a magic ring.
- Round 1: 6 SC into the ring. (6)
- Round 2: Increase in each stitch around. (12)
- Round 3: *1 SC, increase* repeat around. (18)
- Round 4: *2 SC, increase* repeat around. (24)
- Rounds 5-7: SC in each stitch around. (24)
- Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Main Body
- Join new yarn (teal) to the top of the base.
- Round 1: SC in each stitch around. (24)
- Rounds 2-10: SC in each stitch around. (24)
- Change to green yarn at the end of Round 10.
- Round 11: SC in each stitch around. (24)
- Fasten off and weave in the ends.
Face
- Using cream yarn, make a flat circle: Make a magic ring.
- Round 1: 6 SC into the ring. (6)
- Round 2: Increase in each stitch around. (12)
- Round 3: *1 SC, increase* repeat around. (18)
- Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Eyes
- Using black yarn, make 2 small circles (similar to face). Attach safety eyes or sew them on.
Assembly
- Sew the face onto the front of the cozy.
- Attach the eyes to the face, and embroider mouth and teeth using white yarn.
- Stuff the cozy with fiberfill evenly for a rounded shape.
- Add small horns with cream yarn and sew them to the top of the cozy.
