Instructions

Base

1. Ch 41, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (40)
2. Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. Repeat for 2 more rows.
3. Finish off.

Body

1. With right side facing, join yarn at any st around the edge of the base.
2. Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc in the same st, *skip 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, skip 2 sts, 2 dc in next st; repeat from * around, join with sl st in top of beginning ch 3.
3. Ch 3, dc in same st, *skip 2 dc, dc in next 5 dc, skip 2 dc, 2 dc in next st; repeat from * around, join with sl st.
4. Repeat the pattern in step 3 until the body measures approximately 12 inches from the base.
5. Finish off and weave in ends.

Handles

1. Ch 61, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (60)
2. Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. Repeat for 2 more rows.
3. Finish off and attach handles securely to the inside of the handbag, approximately 3 inches from each side.

Finishing

1. If lining is desired, cut fabric to fit the interior, sew edges, and attach using a fabric adhesive or by sewing.
