Materials

• Worsted weight yarn in beige
• Knitting needles size 7 (4.5 mm)
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• 1 button (optional for closure)

Abbreviations

• CO - Cast On
• K - Knit
• P - Purl
• BO - Bind Off

Instructions

Body

1. CO 36 stitches.
2. Row 1: *K1, P1* repeat from * to * across.
3. Row 2: *P1, K1* repeat from * to * across.
4. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the piece measures 16 inches.
5. BO all stitches.

Flap

1. Pick up and knit 36 stitches along one short side for the flap.
2. Row 1: *K1, P1* repeat from * to * across.
3. Row 2: *P1, K1* repeat from * to * across.
4. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the flap measures 4 inches.
5. BO all stitches.

Finishing

1. Fold the body piece in half with the wrong side facing out, leaving the flap part free.
2. Using the yarn needle, seam the sides of the sleeve.
3. Turn the sleeve right side out.
4. Attach a button for closure if desired, sewing it onto the center of the flap.
