Crochet Delicate Floral Motif Shawl Free Pattern

Materials:

• Sport weight yarn - approximately 400 yards
• 5.5 mm (I/9) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Yarn needle for weaving in ends
• Measuring tape

Gauge:

18 stitches x 10 rows = 4 inches in double crochet (after blocking)

Stitch Abbreviations:

• ch - chain
• dc - double crochet
• sp - space
• sl st - slip stitch
• tr - treble crochet

Pattern:

Shawl Body:

Start with a foundation chain of 72.
Row 1: In the 4th ch from hook, dc. *Skip 1 ch, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next ch (floral motif). Repeat from * across. End with 1 dc in the last ch. 
Row 2: Ch 3, turn. In the first sp, (dc, ch 2, dc) in the sp. Skip to the next sp, repeat from * across, ending with 1 dc in the top of the turning chain.
Row 3: Ch 4, turn. *In the first sp, (tr, ch 2, tr). Skip to the next sp and repeat from * across, ending with 1 dc in the top of the turning chain.
Row 4: Ch 3, turn. (dc, ch 2, dc) in the first sp, skip to the next sp, and repeat from * across. Finish with 1 dc in the top of the turning chain. 

Repeat Rows 2-4 until the shawl reaches your desired length, approximately 60 inches long.

Finishing:

Fasten off the yarn and weave in all ends using a yarn needle. Block the shawl to open up the floral motifs beautifully.
