Crochet Delicate Lacy Open-Front Cardigan Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Yarn: DK weight, main color (MC) - cream, contrasting color (CC) - taupe

4” x 4” square = 16 sts x 8 rows in lace pattern

Abbreviations:

• ch: chain
• dc: double crochet
• sc: single crochet
• sc2tog: single crochet two together
• sl st: slip stitch

Pattern:

Body:

1. Foundation Row: With MC, ch 150. (Adjust the number of chains based on desired width)
2. Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn. (148 sts)
3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), *ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st; repeat from * across. Turn.
4. Row 3-56: Repeat Row 2. Turn.

Sleeves (make 2):

1. Foundation Row: With MC, ch 70.
2. Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook and each ch across. Turn. (68 sts)
3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), *ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st; repeat from * across. Turn.
4. Row 3-40: Repeat Row 2. Turn. Fasten off.

Assembly:

Seam sides of sleeves to body using whip stitch or preferred seaming method. Align sleeves to sides, leaving space for armholes. Seam the top of sleeves closed.

Border and Trim:

1. Attach CC at any bottom corner of cardigan opening.
2. Row 1: Sc evenly around front opening and neckline, including bottom edge. Join with sl st to first sc.
3. Row 2-6: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
4. Repeat for sleeve cuffs with CC, working 3 rows of sc in the round on each.
