Crochet Elegant Snowflake Hot Pad Free Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight cotton yarn: White, Light Blue, and Dark Blue
- Crochet hook size G (4.0 mm)
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
- Scissors
Gauge:
4 inches = 8 rows of 12 double crochet stitches
Abbreviations:
- ch - chain
- sl st - slip stitch
- sc - single crochet
- dc - double crochet
- tr - treble crochet
- st(s) - stitch(es)
Finished Size:
Approximately 7.5 inches square
Instructions:
Snowflake Center:
- Using Dark Blue yarn, ch 4, sl st to form a ring.
- Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 11 dc into ring, sl st to top of ch-3 to join. (12 dc)
- Round 2: Ch 4 (counts as tr), [tr in next st, ch 3, skip 1 st] 5 times, join with sl st to top of ch-4. Fasten off.
Inner Section:
- Join Light Blue yarn in any ch-3 space. Ch 3 (counts as dc), (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same space, [(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch-3 space] around, join. Fasten off.
Outer Section:
- Join White yarn in any ch-2 corner space. Ch 3, 2 dc in same space, *dc in next 6 sts, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in corner ch-2 space; repeat from * around. Join. Fasten off.
Edging and Loop:
- With Dark Blue yarn, join in any ch-2 corner space. Ch 1, sc in same space, sc in each st around and 3 sc in each corner space. When reaching second corner after start, ch 10, sl st into same corner to create loop. Continue sc around. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Finishing:
Block to shape if needed. Your elegant snowflake hot pad is now ready to use!
