Crochet Elegant Twinkling Snowflake Garland Free Pattern
This pattern will guide you through creating charming snowflake motifs that can be strung together for a gorgeous garland. Each snowflake measures approximately 7 cm (2.75 inches) in diameter when completed.
Materials Needed:
- Cotton yarn (size 10), any color of your choosing
- 1.75 mm crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
- Optional: Glitter thread for added sparkle
Abbreviations:
- CH = Chain
- SC = Single Crochet
- DC = Double Crochet
- TR = Treble Crochet
- SL ST = Slip Stitch
Instructions:
Snowflake Motif:
- CH 6 and join with SL ST to form a loop.
- Round 1: CH 3 (counts as first DC), then 15 DC in the loop. Join with SL ST to the top of the first CH 3.
- Round 2: CH 5, DC in the next DC; repeat around for a total of 8 spaces. Join with SL ST.
- Round 3: In each CH-5 space, work (DC, CH 2, DC) - 8 petals total. Join with SL ST.
- Round 4: Work 1 TR in each DC around the snowflake, creating a point. In each CH-2 space, work (TR, CH 2, TR) for additional height.
- Finish off and weave in ends.
Garland Assembly:
- Make 10-15 snowflakes (based on your desired garland length).
- Using a long length of yarn, thread the yarn needle and string the snowflakes together, leaving a few inches between each one.
- Optional: Add small beads or glitter at intervals for extra flair!
Blocking:
For best shape, lightly steam block your snowflakes by placing them on a flat surface and using a steam iron. Allow to cool.
Enjoy your delightful decoration!
