Crochet Lush Textured Geometric Pillow Free Pattern
This pattern is designed for intermediate crocheters seeking a fun and textured crochet project. This pillow combines various crochet techniques to create a plush, geometric design.
Materials Needed:
- Yarn: Worsted weight yarn (approximately 400 yards)
- Hook Size: 5.5 mm (I/9)
- Stuffing: Polyester fiberfill or pillow form
- Yarn Needle: For weaving in ends
- Scissors
Gauge:
10 stitches x 10 rows = 4 inches in pattern
Pillow Front:
Round 1: Ch 36, sl st to first ch to form a ring.
Round 2: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdc in each ch around (36 hdc), join with sl st.
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in each stitch around, join.
Round 4: Ch 2, *dc in next 4 stitches, popcorn stitch in next, repeat from * to end, join.
Round 5: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join.
Round 6: Ch 2, *dc in next 5 stitches, bobble stitch in next, repeat from * to end, join.
Repeat rounds 4-6 until the piece measures 18 inches square, ending on a bobble round.
Pillow Back:
Repeat the front pattern but work only up to Round 5 without the bobbles. This creates a flat back for the pillow.
Finishing:
- Place the front and back pieces together, wrong sides facing each other.
- Using the yarn needle, slip stitch around the edges, leaving a 6-inch opening.
- Turn the pillow right side out and stuff it with fiberfill or insert the pillow form.
- Whip stitch the opening closed.
Optional:
Add a decorative border or fringes to the pillow edges for an extra touch.
