Crochet Textured Scarf Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Yarn: Worsted weight in your color of choice
- Crochet Hook: Size I (5.5mm)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- st = stitch
- sp = space
Instructions:
Foundation Row:
Ch 32.
Row 1:
Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch across, turn. (31 sc)
Row 2:
Ch 2 (counts as dc), dc in the next st, *ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st; repeat from * across, ending with a dc in the last st, turn.
Row 3:
Ch 1, sc in the first dc, sc in each ch-1 sp and dc across, turn.
Row 4:
Repeat Row 2.
Row 5:
Repeat Row 3.
Continue repeating Rows 2 and 3 until the scarf measures approximately 60 inches or your desired length.
Finishing:
Fasten off and weave in all ends using the tapestry needle.
Adding Fringe:
- Cut yarn strands about 10 inches long.
- Holding 3 strands together, fold in half to form a loop.
- Insert hook from the back to front at the edge of the scarf, and pull the loop through.
- Pull the ends through the loop and tighten.
- Repeat along both ends of the scarf, evenly spacing the fringe.
