Crochet Textured Scarf Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Yarn: Worsted weight in your color of choice
• Crochet Hook: Size I (5.5mm)
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• dc = double crochet
• st = stitch
• sp = space

Instructions:

Foundation Row:

Ch 32.

Row 1:

Sc in the 2nd ch from the hook and in each ch across, turn. (31 sc)

Row 2:

Ch 2 (counts as dc), dc in the next st, *ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st; repeat from * across, ending with a dc in the last st, turn.

Row 3:

Ch 1, sc in the first dc, sc in each ch-1 sp and dc across, turn.

Row 4:

Repeat Row 2.

Row 5:

Repeat Row 3.

Continue repeating Rows 2 and 3 until the scarf measures approximately 60 inches or your desired length.

Finishing:

Fasten off and weave in all ends using the tapestry needle.

Adding Fringe:

1. Cut yarn strands about 10 inches long.
2. Holding 3 strands together, fold in half to form a loop.
3. Insert hook from the back to front at the edge of the scarf, and pull the loop through.
4. Pull the ends through the loop and tighten.
5. Repeat along both ends of the scarf, evenly spacing the fringe.
