Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in yellow and green
• Crochet hook size G/4.0 mm
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• dc = double crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• st(s) = stitch(es)
• pop = popcorn stitch (5 dc in the same st, remove hook from last dc, insert into first dc, pull last dc through first to close)

Instructions:

Pineapple Body:

1. With yellow yarn, ch 12.
2. Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook (counts as first dc), dc in next ch, pop in next ch, dc in next ch, pop in next ch, dc in next ch, pop in next ch, dc in last 3 ch. Turn.
3. Row 2: ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in next 2 sts, pop in next st, dc in next st, pop in next st, dc in next st, pop in next st, dc in last 3 sts. Turn.
4. Repeat Row 2 three more times or until desired length is reached. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Pineapple Leaves:

1. With green yarn, join to top of pineapple. ch 10, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, sl st in same st on pineapple.
2. Repeat to make 5 more leaves with the following ch 15, ch 10, ch 12, ch 8, ch 10 lengths for natural variation.
3. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Finishing:

Use a tapestry needle to secure and tidy up any remaining yarn tails. Block lightly if needed to shape the leaves nicely.
