Materials Needed
- Yarn: Worsted weight in five colors (teal, cream, rust, mustard, brown)
- Crochet Hook: 6mm (J-10)
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- st(s) = stitch(es)
- sp = space
- rep = repeat
Pattern
Foundation Row
Using Color A (teal), ch 4, join with a slip stitch to form a ring.
Row 1
Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc in ring, ch 2, 3 dc in ring, turn. (6 dc, 1 ch-2 sp)
Row 2
Ch 3, dc in next st, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in next 2 sts, turn. (8 dc, 1 ch-2 sp)
Row 3
Ch 3, dc in each dc to ch-2 sp, (dc, ch 2, dc) in ch-2 sp, dc in each dc across, turn.
Continue Pattern
Repeat Row 3, changing colors every 4 rows in the sequence: Color B (cream), Color C (rust), Color D (mustard), Color E (brown), and repeat from Color A. Continue until the shawl reaches desired size or approximately 50 inches from the center point.
Finishing
Fasten off, weave in all ends using a tapestry needle.
Blocking
Gently block the shawl to open up the eyelets and smooth out the stitches.
