Crochet Whimsical Garden Themed Pot Holder

Materials Needed:

• 100% cotton worsted weight yarn (3 colors: Green, Yellow, Pink)
• G/6 (4.0 mm) crochet hook
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Stitch marker

Finished Size:

Approximately 8" x 8" square

Gauge:

15 stitches and 16 rows = 4 inches in double crochet (DC).

Stitches Used:

• Chain (ch)
• Slip Stitch (sl st)
• Single Crochet (sc)
• Half Double Crochet (hdc)
• Double Crochet (dc)

Pattern Instructions:

1. Base: Using Green yarn, ch 30.
2. Row 1: HDC in 3rd ch from hook, and in each ch across. (28 hdc)
3. Row 2-12: Ch 2, turn. HDC in each stitch across.
4. Floral Motif:
   • Using Pink yarn, join with a sl st in any corner.
   • Round 1: Ch 2, 12 dc in same stitch, join with sl st.
   • Round 2: Ch 1, [3 dc in next st, 1 sc in next st] repeat around, join with sl st.
   • Cut yarn, weave ends.
5. Leaf Motif:
   • Using Yellow yarn, ch 8.
   • Row 1: HDC in 2nd ch from hook, and in next 6 ch, turn.
   • Row 2: Ch 1, 2 hdc in first st, hdc in next 6 st, 2 hdc in last st, turn.
   • Row 3: Ch 1, hdc in each st across. Cut yarn. Make three leaves total.
6. Assembly:
   • Attach the floral motif in the center of the pot holder.
   • Arrange and sew the leaves around the flower using matching yarn. Secure all ends.
7. Finally, attach a loop using the Green yarn at one corner for hanging.

Care Instructions:

Machine wash in cold water, tumble dry low.
