Materials
- Worsted weight yarn in various colors: red, green, white, blue, yellow, brown, black, and other accent colors.
- 3.5 mm crochet hook
- Polyester fiberfill for stuffing
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors

- Optional: small buttons or beads for eyes
General Stitch Abbreviations
- ch - chain
- sc - single crochet
- inc - increase single crochet (2 sc in the same st)
- dec - decrease single crochet (sc two sts together)
- sl st - slip stitch
- FO - fasten off
Basic Balloon Bauble Pattern
Each ornament starts with this basic ball shape:
Instructions
- Ch 2, work 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook (6 sts).
- Inc around (12 sts).
- (Sc, inc) around (18 sts).
- (2 sc, inc) around (24 sts).
- (3 sc, inc) around (30 sts).
- Sc around for 5 rows.
- (3 sc, dec) around (24 sts).
- (2 sc, dec) around (18 sts).
- (Sc, dec) around (12 sts).
- Stuff bauble with fiberfill.
- Dec around (6 sts).
- FO, leaving a tail. Close the remaining hole by weaving the tail around the outer loops of the last 6 stitches, pull tight and weave in the end.
Detailed Ornament Designs
Santa Ornament
- Use red yarn for base.
- Change color to white for 2 rows after the inc section for Santa's beard.
- Attach small beads or buttons for eyes; embroider nose and mouth with contrasting yarn.
- Create a tiny hat and attach it on top.
Snowman Ornament
- Follow the basic bauble pattern in white yarn.
- Create a small black top hat using black yarn and attach it.
- Embroider eyes and mouth; use orange yarn for nose.
Reindeer Ornament
- Use brown yarn for base.
- Attach small antlers made from brown yarn or felt.

Finishing
For each ornament, create a loop at the top for hanging by chaining 20, then attach the chain to the top of the bauble with a slip stitch. Weave in all ends.
