Crochet Festive Whimsical Snowflake Pillowscape Free Pattern

This pillow features delightful snowflakes that dance across its surface, creating a festive atmosphere.

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn in white, blue, and silver
  • G (4.0 mm) crochet hook
  • Fiberfill stuffing
  • Yarn needle

Gauge:

Gauge is not critical but aim for a fabric with good drape. About 14 stitches and 16 rows = 4 inches in single crochet.

Abbreviations:

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • tr = triple crochet
  • rep = repeat
  • st = stitch

Instructions:

Pillow Front

1. With white yarn, ch 40.
2. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (39 sc). Turn.
3. Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each st across. Turn.
4. Rows 3-8: Repeat Row 2.
5. Add blue yarn: Row 9: Ch 1, sc in each stitch across. Turn.
6. Create snowflake motif:
- Using white yarn, create a magic circle.
- 6 sc into the circle. Pull tight.
- Round 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in first st, *ch 2, 3 dc in next st; rep from * to end. Join to top of ch-3.
- Fasten off and attach to pillow front.
7. Repeat to create 4 snowflakes at desired positions.
8. Repeat until you have a piece measuring 18” x 18”.

Pillow Back

1. Repeat Steps 1-4 for the back using silver yarn. 2. Continue with rows of alternate sc and dc for 8 rows. 3. Fasten off.

Finishing

1. Place front and back, right sides together.
2. Join with slip stitch around three edges, leaving one side open.
3. Turn right side out and stuff with fiberfill until desired fullness.
4. Join the last side with slip stitch or use a yarn needle to seam closed.
5. Weave in ends and enjoy your whimsical snowflake pillowscape!
