• st = stitch

Hat Body:

1. Using purple yarn, make a magic ring.
2. Round 1: 6 sc into magic ring. Join with sl st. (6 sts)
3. Round 2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
4. Round 3: (Sc in next st, inc) around. (18 sts)
5. Round 4: (Sc in next 2 sts, inc) around. (24 sts)
6. Round 5: (Sc in next 3 sts, inc) around. (30 sts)
7. Round 6: (Sc in next 4 sts, inc) around. (36 sts)
8. Continue increasing in this pattern until you have 60 sts.
9. Rounds 10-18: Sc in each st around.

Earflaps:

1. Row 1: Sc in 10 sts, turn. (10 sts)
2. Row 2: Dec 1, sc in next 6 sts, dec 1, turn. (8 sts)
3. Row 3: Sc in each st across, turn. (8 sts)
