Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight cotton yarn in 3 contrasting colors
• Crochet hook size G (4.0 mm)
• Scissors

Gauge: 4" x 4" = 10 sts x 10 rows in double crochet

Finished Size: Each square measures approx. 10" x 10".

Abbreviations:

• ch - chain
• dc - double crochet
• sl st - slip stitch
• sc - single crochet
• sp - space
• tr - treble crochet

Instructions:

Layer 1 - Foundation Square

1. With Color A, ch 36.
2. Row 1: dc in 4th ch from hook, *dc in next ch, repeat from * to end. (34 dc)
3. Rows 2-5: Ch 3, turn. dc in each dc across.

Layer 2 - Geometric Pattern

1. Change to Color B. Ch 1, sc in each dc across (34 sc).
2. Row 2: Ch 3, *skip 1, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next st, repeat from * across.
3. Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each ch-1 sp across. Fasten off Color B.

Layer 3 - outer Border

1. Join Color C in any corner. Ch 1, sc in each st across including edges (approx. 136 sc).
2. Row 2: Ch 3, *(dc in next sc, ch 1) repeat to end.*
3. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
