Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn in four colors: Cream, Blue, Yellow, and Orange
- Crochet hook size H/8 (5mm)
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations:
- ch: chain
- dc: double crochet
- sl st: slip stitch
- sp: space
- st: stitch
Instructions:
Round 1:
- With Cream, ch 4 and join with a sl st to form a ring.
- Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in the ring, ch 2, *(3 dc in the ring, ch 2); repeat from * two more times.
- Join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3. Fasten off Cream.
Round 2:
- Join Blue in any ch-2 sp.
- Ch 3, 2 dc in the same sp, ch 1, *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch-2 sp, ch 1; repeat from * around.
- Join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3. Fasten off Blue.
Round 3:
- Join Yellow in any ch-1 sp, ch 3, 2 dc in the same sp.
- *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in corner ch-2 sp, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp; repeat from * around.
- Join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3. Fasten off Yellow.
Round 4:
- Join Orange in any ch-3 corner.
- Ch 3, 2 dc in the same sp, *(3 dc in next sp) twice, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next corner; repeat from * around.
- Join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3. Fasten off Orange.
Round 5:
- Join Cream in any ch-2 corner.
- Ch 3, 2 dc in the same sp, *(3 dc in next sp) thrice, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next corner; repeat from * around.
- Join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch 3.
- Fasten off and weave in all ends.
Finishing:
Block the square to shape if necessary. Use your stunning granny square for various projects like blankets, cushions, or bags!
