Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight cotton yarn in cream, blue, rust, and beige
- Crochet Hook: US Size G (4.00mm)
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- sp = space
Instructions:
Granny Square (Make 2):
- Round 1: With beige yarn, make a magic ring. Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc, ch 1. (3 dc, ch 1) three times. Join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. Fasten off.
- Round 2: Join blue yarn in any ch-1 sp. Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1 in the same sp. (3 dc, ch 1 in ch-1 sp) around. Join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. Fasten off.
- Round 3: Join cream yarn in any ch-1 sp. Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in the same sp (corner made). (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp) around. Join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. Fasten off.
- Round 4: Join rust yarn in any corner ch-1 sp. Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in same sp; 3 dc in each ch-1 sp, (3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in corner ch-1 sp) three times. Join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3. Fasten off.
Assemble the Cozy:
- With the wrong sides of both squares facing each other, join cream yarn to any corner and work sc evenly along one side of each square (joining them together) to form a tube.
- Continue with cream yarn to work around the top edge. Work one round of sc evenly, joining the top edges of both squares.
- Repeat for the bottom edge, working one round of sc evenly.
Finishing:
- Weave in all ends using the yarn needle.
- Slide the cozy onto your favorite mug, adjusting to fit snugly.
