Knitting Adorable Classic Baby Booties Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• DK weight yarn, 50g
• Knitting needles size US 4 (3.5mm)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations:

• k - knit
• p - purl
• st(s) - stitch(es)
• k2tog - knit 2 together
• p2tog - purl 2 together

Sizes:

This pattern covers sizes for Newborn, 0-3 months, and 3-6 months.

Booties:

1. Cast on 34 (40, 46) stitches.
2. Ribbing: k1, p1 across for 12 rows.
3. Leg: Knit all rows for 10 (12, 14) rows.
4. Foot: Row 1: k22 (26, 30), turn.
   Row 2: p10 (12, 14), turn.
   Repeat rows 1 and 2 until foot measures 2.5 (3, 3.5) inches from the start of foot section, ending on a purl row.
5. Toe and Top: Row 1: k2, k2tog, k8 (10, 12), ssk, k2.
   Row 2: Purl all.
   Repeat last 2 rows until 10 stitches remain.
6. Cut yarn leaving a long tail. Thread through remaining stitches, pull tight, and secure.
7. Sewing: Sew up the sole and back of booties using mattress stitch. Weave in ends.
8. Finishing: Create a small bow with spare yarn and attach to the top of the bootie near the cuff for decoration.
