Materials
- DK weight yarn in three colors: cream, grey, rust
- Knitting needles, size US 6 (4mm)
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge
24 stitches and 32 rows = 4 inches in pattern stitch
Finished Size
Approximately 9 inches wide at widest point and 75 inches long.
Pattern
Abbreviations
- k - knit
- p - purl
- k2tog - knit two stitches together
- yo - yarn over
Instructions
Begin with Color A (Cream)
- Cast on 3 stitches.
- Row 1: K1, yo, knit to end.
- Repeat Row 1 until you have 40 stitches.
Switch to Color B (Grey)
- Row 41: K1, yo, knit to last 2 stitches, k2tog.
- Repeat Row 41 until you have used Color B for approximately 25 inches.
Add Color C (Rust)
- Continue as established with Row 41, alternating decreases and yarn overs to maintain width, until piece measures 75 inches from tip to tip.
- Bind off loosely.
Finishing
Weave in ends using the tapestry needle. Block to finished dimensions, if desired.
