Assembly

  1. Lay the two wings flat, with the cast-on edges facing each other. The wings should be mirror images.
  2. Using a tapestry needle and the same yarn, sew the cast-on edges of the wings together for about 4 inches from the outer edges, leaving the center 2 inches open (this will be the neck opening).
  3. Attach the body panel to the center of the wings. Sew the body panel to the wings along the long edges, creating a tube that connects the two wings. The body panel should be centered so that the wings flare out on each side.
  4. Weave in all remaining ends.

Finishing

Gently block the scarf by wetting it and laying it flat to dry, shaping the wings to your desired size. The garter stitch will relax and the scarf will become wonderfully soft and drapey.
